Talula: Perhaps trying too hard
By Diana from Washington, DC on August 16, 2006.
A friend and I - who frequent fine dining establishments - went to Talula on our yearly girls-only SOBE trip. We were semi-pleased with the decor and the service - my foie gras appetizer was delicious, however, my entre of risotto was simply awful - a combination of some citrus flavor and honey with a fish liver. Before I tasted it and realized I had ordered an appetizer portion I was a little upset, but after tasting I was ohhh sooo grateful. Now on to my friend who ordered the special of the evening - striped sea bass - clearly very undercooked. We finished our wine, paid the bill and went to the Van Gogh Cafe for their bread pudding - to fill the hole. Again, they shouldn’t try sooo hard.
Talula is located at 210 23rd St., Miami Beach, FL 33139.
