Hmmm, where do I begin? Well, I went to Miami two weeks ago for my wife’s 30th birthday. I booked a room at the Deauville before I came on this site and read all the horrible reviews about bed bugs and dirty sheets. I was a little worried but my wife and I always luck out when it comes to hotels. Plus we figured that we weren’t going to be in the room much so we took a chance.

Boy, am I glad that we did. The lobby was beautiful. Everything was new. It was big and pretty glamorous. We got there pretty early so we had to check in our luggage and wait for our room to become available. We went out to the beach, which we found pretty nice and hung out there for about an hour.
After that we decided to check out the pool area. The pool was really nice as well. The water was warm and it looked particularly clean. At the bar you could order food and drinks and have it brought to you.

About an hour later we went to our room. This is what I was worried about. When I opened the door on the 12th floor I noticed that everything looked up-to-the-minute. The room wasn’t anything extravagant but the rugs and furniture looked new. They style was modern and fresh and the bed was really comfortable. We had a nice view of the beach and ocean and the air conditioning was running fine.

We ended up going to a magic show that we found pretty entertaining. But like I mentioned before, we weren’t planning on spending a lot of time there and we didn’t nevertheless the people that worked for the Deauville, from the concierge, to the people at the front desk, I felt were extremely helpful.

If there is anything I would complain about I would have to say the distance the hotel is from South Beach. Expect to pay about 25$ for a cab to SoBe or spend 45 minutes on a bus. The exterior of the hotel is a little on the old side but nothing that would make me not recommend it to a friend. Also, the internet connection was experiencing some problems when we stayed there.

Overall my wife and I had a great experience. I’m very happy that I was able to make her birthday tremendously memorable.
