Shelborne Hotel: Cancelled reservation on me   1-Star rating

Back in Feb 07 I booked reservations for this hotel for my trip to South Beach May 17. They sent me an email May 7 telling me that my reservation was being moved to another hotel because of an emergency.. I proceed to call the hotel to find out why a week before my stay there i would get an email not a phone call nothing.. They told me there air conditioning wasn’t working and wouldn’t be working ‘til June. The woman I spoke to was very rude and didn’t want to hear anything I had to say. She told me that I had to stay at another hotel and there was nothing else she was going to say. I then spoke to the manager and he also was no help telling me there are other hotels in Miami i can stay at. I have time. 10 days before my trip. Later on I called the hotel again this time looking to book reservations they told me they were booked for a conference. I then asked if there air conditioning was working and they told me yes it was fine. This is not customer service and I don’t recommend anyone book reservations with this misleading hotel. And rude staff…

Shelborne Hotel is located at 1801 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139.

"Cancelled reservation on me"

Shelbourne Motor Inn says:

Just get a sign and protest in front of the hotel once you’re in M.B. if you feel so strongly about it. Better yet, pay South Beach Santa or one of the well-known homeless celebrities to picket for you—OR pay them to wear a t-shirt you make with a slogan about the hotel on it that vents your anger.  The t-shirt idea would totally work and would generate alot of attention!!  What the hotel did is kind of unprofessional, but can you blame them for trying to make a profit?
