Jerry's Famous Deli: AWFUL   1-Star rating

I came to Jerry’s Deli in search of nothing more than a tasty sandwich and refreshing drink. Not only was the burger I order extremely dry and tasteless, but the long island must have been made by someone who is foreign to the actual long island recipe. To top off the extremely disappointing food, we had to seat ourselves, and then waited over 10 minutes before finally resorting to asking someone to send us a server. The server was less than thrilled to serve us, and provided us with one of the WORST dining experiences I have ever had. I am a server myself, and rarely give less than a 20% tip. However, after this server basically threw the bill at me, and then took the pen away after I had voiced to him I had not yet finished filling out the bill…I decided he deserved nothing more than 10%...and that was generous. To top everything off, I talked to the manager who didn’t seem to care one bit about my AWFUL experience, never saying sorry once. Save yourself from the extremely overpriced excuse for real food and aggravating service…DO NOT EAT AT JERRY’S.

Jerry's Famous Deli is located at 1450 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.

"AWFUL"

Sungal says:

Jerry’s is fine for breakfast, matzah ball soup, pastrami on rye, things like that. There are tons of places in town devoted solely to burgers. It’s too bad about your server.

I agree with Sungal about breakfast, which is decent for South Beach.  Their pancakes are pretty bad though (very stiff, dry, and tasteless), but I’m pretty sure they just microwave up some frozen ones.  It’s an ok restaurant to hit in the morning to nurse a hangover.  Their servers are not very attentive though, I definitely agree with that part of the review.

Horrible experience for breakfast in November—walked out after sitting for one hour with no more than coffee and adjacent diners who had arrived earlier served.  Never again.
