Loft living – the remodeling of commercial or industrial
buildings for use as homes and workspaces – is common in older
cities, such as Chicago and New York, but in Miami where everything
is fairly new, there is a lack of older buildings for such purposes.
This has not stopped the trend from coming here – call them
tropical lofts – real estate developers are building hip, raw
spaces, using natural woods, glass, coral, and stone from the ground
up.
