What’s There To Do? (It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas)

Shopping
If you plan on spending the weekend shopping, you’re on your own, but I do have one shopping event to tell you about: the Armani Exchange South Beach is opening tomorrow. This is a 6,200 square foot mega store. Following the ribbon cutting at 9am, doors open to the public at 10am. The first 200 shoppers will receive A|X gift cards valued at $25 - $1,000.

Holiday Happenings
The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade begins in Ft Lauderdale and ends in Pompano Beach on Saturday.
You may or may not consider the Broadway show RENT to be holiday-related but I most definitely do. It’s on stage at the Fillmore Miami Beach this weekend.
Miami City Ballet will perform The Nutcracker at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
The Arts Ballet Theatre of FL will perform The Nutcracker at Parker Playhouse.
Arts of St Johns presents their Holiday Concert Sunday.

Nightlife
Loose Cannons on the Run starts at SOFLO Skateboard & Bike Shop at 10pm tonight (Thursday).
The Balvenie is holding malt liquor tasting events at the W Hotel tonight and at ortanique tomorrow night (Friday).
As it is the second Saturday of the month, it’s time for the Wynwood & Design District Art Walk. Essence, the Walk after party, will take place at Parafernalia Studios.
In the clubs, Wale and Wolfgang Gartner, and Ginuwine are at Mansion; DJ Umek and DJ Chus are at Club Space (bring a new unwrapped toy for complimentary admission before 1am Saturday night).

Other Events
Billy Crystal stars in his autobiographical 700 Sundays at the Arsht Center through Sunday. Brian Stokes Mitchell will also be at the Arsht Center.
The Tango Times Dance Company presents A Tango Story at the Manuel Artime Theater.
For you food lovers, check out Carbonell Chef’s Fest, prix-fixed olive oil inspired menus at area restaurants.

Visit the Event Calendar to see what else is going on at the clubs, films being shown at the Cinematheque, yoga classes, and more. Is your event not on the Calendar? Send it to me now!
