This year’s Argentinean-themed Art Deco Weekend takes place in the center of South Beach at Ocean Drive. Festivities, including performances, films, food, a Car Fest and more, kick off with a parade on Saturday morning and go through the weekend.

Coinciding with Art Deco Weekend, the Cinematheque will be showing two Argentinean films. Free (with your ticket) wine tastings will be held across the street at Cavas Wines after the films. Visit the Event Calendar for details.

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida (HMSF) is hosting two tours this weekend: a Downtown Architecture and Miami River Walking Tour on Saturday and a Ft Lauderdale Intracoastal Waterway & New River Boat Tour on Sunday. Both tours will be lead by Dr. Paul George.

youngARTS week wraps up this weekend with Photography & Visual Arts and Dance & Cinematic Arts finals on Friday; and Written Works and Chamber Music finals on Saturday.

And then there’s the parties. In honor of Martin Luther King, Voyage is hosting One Love and Cameo is hosting the ‘I Have a Dream’ Blowout, both on Sunday. There are plenty more all weekend long. Visit the Nightlife section of the Event Calendar to see them all.

Get your tickets now!!! The South Beach Comedy Festival is in town next weekend. Cheech & Chong, Lewis Black, Lisa Lampanelli, Dave Berry and more. Click here for the complete list.

Don’t see your event on the Event Calendar? We’ll post it for free. Send it to me now!

Where can I found details about the upcoming South Beach Art Deco Weekend in January 2011. I’d like to know next year’s theme, best hotels to stay in that area, etc. Thanks!!

Hi, Rosemary. The dates for Art Deco Weekend 2011 are January 14-16.

For hotel recommendations, I suggest posting a question in the Miami Beach 411 Hotel forum. Just click the “Forum” link at the top of the page, and then scroll down to the “Hotels & Lodging Forum.” You’ll find some very nice people who are happy to answer your question.

Keep in mind, the Art Deco Weekend is one of the more busy times of the year in South Beach. Hotels fill up early and increase their rates, the closer you get.

Thanks so much! Is there a website for updates on the weekend. I couldn’t find it anywhere online, thus my questions. I wanted to see what the 2011 theme will be and other details.
Appreciate it.  Rosemary
