Target Midtown Miami opening

October 07, 2006 By Gus in Miami: Local News  | 8 Comments

This is it, ladies and gentleman: the big weekend we’ve all been waiting for! And no, I’m not referring to the Carnival Center opening. I’m referring to the grand opening of Target at Midtown Miami.

I just got back from the store, and let me tell you, I’m very impressed. Although it’s not a Super Target, it’s a very large store with all the Target items you’d expect, plus as a big section of frozen foods, groceries, electronics, musical instruments, pet supplies, and a Starbucks coffee shop.

Target Midtown Miami is located on the the Southeast corner of N. Miami Ave. and NW 36th St. The phone number is (786) 437-0164. Store hours are 9am to 10pm. Parking is free for the first hour.

Aaahhh! Marvelous! I’m so excited to go! Must get there before it’s ransacked!
Thanks for posting this, otherwise I never would’ve known. When I last drove by there in May, it looked like it was still a year away…

So glad I don’t have to drive to N. Miami or Dadeland for a Target anymore!

What?? I hadn’t heard of this!! I just spent a few minutes trying to figure out how close to public transit it is. I was hoping for it to be right by a Metrorail stop. Unfortunately, it’s about 1.3 miles away, though it looks like a bus will go right by the store. Now I have something to do today! Go check out Target!!

Went there Sunday nice store. Has a lot of hopes for the development, and it doesn’t seem that it’s going to affect the neighborhood much. One bad thing: no bicycle racks! Store employee said “we are working on it”. I can’t wait for West Elm.

I’m thoroughly impressed. It was big (didn’t feel like I was in Brickell Publix), and it did have a lot of food items, including cold/frozen. One thing, though…there were no Seventh Generation products to be found. Odd because they are in most Targets.

Everything looks great, but I have a problem with the parking lot. Why Target customer have to pay for parking? I haven’t seen other target that do the same. It’s free for the first hour if you remember to validate the ticket I don’t know where because nobody tell you.
