January 07, 2007 By Gus in Miami: Local NewsMiscellaneous  | 3 Comments

Who’s idea was it to put a 3D banner on the Sun Trust building on Lincoln Road?

Whoever it was, they’ve got a funny since of humor.

That’s quite an illusion.

"Lincoln Road Building Illusion"

Steven says:

It is Swiss artist Renate Buser who used the SunTrust building for her piece. I attended a lecture by her today and found that out.

Hi, Steven. Thanks for telling us about the artist. Stop by anytime!

Steven says:

No problem! I was able to talk to her today and asked if the piece had something to do with the future building by Swiss architects Herzog & De Meuron. Apparently it is an original way of introducing the new project by Robert Wennett. So instead of installing a simple banner with the basic information on it they projected this huge perspective on the building. Also note that both Renate Buser and the architects are from the city of Basel, which I believe may somehow be linked to the Art Basel Festival.

By the way, thanks for the welcome!
