Miami Airport has a plan to help shorten the time International travelers must wait to show their passports and be admitted into the country. Typically, it takes passport officers about 50 minutes to process a planeload of international travelers, compared to an average of 30 to 40 minutes at other airports.

Beginning in May, the new plan will double the number of passport booths available for international travelers entering the country at Miami International Airport.
