Largest LCD TV in the World

Dolphins Stadium has placed an order with Daktronics Inc. to build the world’s largest LCD TV for our Miami Stadium. The plan calls for two megaginormous flat-panel screens, measuring 1,750-inches each, to be installed behind each end zone.

Dolphins Stadium will be the first NFL venue to implement true HD large screen video. The monitors will feature a 2,112 x 736 (that’s almost 1.5 million pixels) resolution.

Both screens will use an even wider aspect ratio than the 9:16, offering fans an even wider, more panoramic view of the action. The displays will also have the ability to show multiple images simultaneously.

The project is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2006 baseball season, which begins in April.

Sad thing is, by the time the 2010 Super Bowl lands in Miami, you will be able to buy one on sale at Circuit City. Hey, I’m not kidding.
