What’s There To Do? (Oktoberfest Edition)

Photo: Oktoberfest 2009

As I said, it’s October. Fritz & Franz Bierhaus in Coral Gables is holding a 10-day Oktoberfest through October 11th. Beer, brats, music and more! Proceeds will benefit CHARLEE homes.

In music news, Metallica is at the BankAtlantic Center tonight and The Killers are at the AA Arena Saturday.

The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is taking place at Bayfront Park Saturday morning. Whether you’re walking for the cause or not, be warned that streets around the park will be closed.

The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Business & Community EXPO at the Convention Center Saturday. The Taste of Miami portion, 5pm - 8pm, sounds fantastic!

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida has two walking tours going on this weekend: Little Havana Walk and Lunch at El Pub Restaurant with Pepe Menendez on Saturday and the Bay Harbor Islands MIMO Walk with Sylvia Gurinsky on Sunday.

Don’t miss the Last Bike Miami Day on Sunday. It’s a street party downtown and it’s free!

Nightlife highlights this weekend include the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Under One Moon Pool Party tonight at the Shore Club; the Deering Estate’s 8th Annual Wine on Harvest Moon Saturday; and a Full Moon Party & Drum Circle on the beach Sunday (some members of the group are not happy about the event being publicized so it may have been moved).

At the clubs, DJ Jazzy Jeff is at Mansion tomorrow; Miguel Migs is at The Vagabond and The Shapeshifters are at Mansion on Saturday. Visit the Nightlife section of the Event Calendar to see what else is going on at the clubs.

Looking for a yoga, salsa, and cooking class? See Classes for all the offerings.

Do we have your event on the Event Calendar? If not, send it to us now!
