What’s There To Do? (Memorial Day Weekend 2009)

image
Photo: The MiamiBeach411.com crowd partied recently

First and foremost this Memorial Day Weekend are the parties. You can view the Event Calendar to see quite a few but, I have to admit, Kristine has more in the Forums. This thread contains very useful traffic and parking information. You can also visit her Memorial Weekend Hip-hop party information thread for additional party info. (I’m thinking I may be out of work soon.)

If you’re looking for some comedy this weekend, Mike Epps is at the Fillmore Miami Beach; and Anthony Anderson, Bill Bellamy, John Witherspoon, Pierre, Luenell, Lavar, Vanessa Fraction and Special K are all part of the 2nd Annual Memorial Weekend Comedy Festival at the James L Knight Center. Escape Miami and check out the off-broadway comedy Mother Load at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

At the Cinematheque there’s a Cannes Film Festival winner The Class and an Oscar® nominated film Katyń.

Looking for something else? Gus offers a few ideas in 101 Fun Attractions in Miami. Or check out what Miami Tour Company has to offer. Or stop by the Forums to see what other happenings people are talking about.

Whatever you do, remember this is MEMORIAL DAY weekend; not just summer kick-off, but a time to remember the men and women who have fought for this country and the rights we all too often take for granted.

Laurie is the events manager at Miami Beach 411. To stay informed on what there is to do, please link to the calendar, or bookmark it as one of your favorites!

  1. Kristine says:

Thanks for posting up the info Laurie! I’m sooo happy Memorial Weekend is about to be over. The craziness was overwhelming!

Not to mention… over $2000 to do VIP at Mansion just for 5 people = ridiculous!
