I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (Winter Music Conference AND Fashion Week)

Winter Music Conference (WMC) is officially held at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Tuesday (3/25) through Saturday (3/29). The conference features exhibits, seminars, panel discussions, and, most importantly, parties at clubs, hotels, rooftops and more with DJs from around the world showing what it’s all about all week long. Gus was kind enough to put together a list of official and unofficial parties by night:

Don’t miss the grand finale, the 10th Annual Ultra Music Festival in Bicentennial Park Saturday and Sunday!

As if this isn’t all enough, FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach is going on Wednesday (3/26) through Saturday with events on the beach at Lummus Park and also at the Setai. New designers, famous designers, and entertainers trying to make it as designers will be pedaling their wares.

Yet another party this week is the All Inclusive Spring Break Wet Fete at Bayside Hut in Key Biscayne Saturday night into Sunday. Be prepared to get wet!!!

Looking for live music (besides at Ultra Music Festival)? Kenny G will be at the Fillmore Miami Beach or you can find the Moody Blues and Def Leppard, Styxx, REO Speedwagon at Hard Rock Live.

In the theater this week, Forbidden Broadway, the off-Broadway hit that spoofs Broadway hits, begins at the Arsht Center’s Carnival Studio Theater. Bonus: the Miami show stars the NY cast. Miami City Ballet’s Program IV, including a World Premiere performance, takes place at the Ziff Ballet Opera House.

In film, the Miami/Ft Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival presents Shelter at Gateway Cinemas in Ft Lauderdale; The Devil Came On Horseback, a film about the genocide in Darfur, is being shown at the Wolfsonian; or, at Miami Beach Cinematheque, see DJ Jesse Saunder’s documentary (a WMC special event), Peter Greenaway’s film 8 1/2 Women, the five Academy Award nominated Animated Short Films, and Docuspain’s Seville Southside (Polígono sur). Click the links for dates and times.

For the kids (ok, for little girls), Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes will be at the AA Arena.

If this isn’t enough, visit the Event Calendar to see if there’s another party, art exhibit, or theater event that might “tickle your fancy”. If you’ve got an event to post, send it to me!
