I’m Bored, What’s There To Do (SoBe Comedy Festival & Art Deco Weekend)

The 3rd Annual South Beach Comedy Festival kicks off Wednesday (1/16) with Kathy Griffin at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater, Kristina Wong and Billy Eichner at the Colony Theater, and Louis C.K. at the Lincoln Theatre. Thursday (1/17) you’ll find Stephen Lynch at the Lincoln Theatre, Katt Williams at the Fillmore Miami Beach, and Jeff Ross and Ralphie May at the Colony Theater. Friday’s (1/18) lineup includes Jeff Dunham at the Fillmore Miami Beach, Raul Gonzalez and the “So You Think You are Funny” Comedy Contest at the Colony Theater, and Susie Essman at the Lincoln Theatre. There will also be free comedy performances on the Lincoln Road stage nightly at 7pm and 9:30pm.

Friday through Sunday (1/20) is the 31st Annual Art Deco Weekend on Ocean Drive. There will be a parade, tours, lectures, films, live performances, and more!

Miami Beach Cinematheque is showing Banished, a story of American ethnic cleansing, Thursday night. Friday night’s film is Federico Fellini’s Amarcord and Saturday’s is Fellini: I’m A Born Liar. Sunday features a “JUDAICA on Film” event.

VINO Miami will have live music both Thursday and Friday nights. Thursday night’s party is FUSE, for women who LOVE women with Karina Iglesias and “El Maestro” David Solero; and Before Trees will be there Friday.

Other events going on around town include Bill Cosby with two performances at Hard Rock Live; Marilyn Manson at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater; Gabriel & Dresden at Mansion; the opening of Boyz of Bazel presents He-Men Woman Haters Club at the Carol Jazzar Contemporary Art Gallery (through February 2); “World Famous” Lipizzaner Stallions at the BankUnited Center; Broadway on Ice, Dennis DeYoung & the Music of Styx, and Debra Ehrhardt’s one woman show Jamaica, Farewell at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts; and sing along with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in Grease at Arts at St Johns.
