I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (4th of July Weekend)

July 3rd
Start celebrating Independence Day early with 86collective, a contemporary digital art experience at SET nightclub; FrontPage Thursday at Mokai; a Microkitten Bikini Fashion Show and DJs Steve Smooth and JJ Flores as part of Pure Thursdays at Ink; or Dirt Nasty live at Mansion’s Runway Thursday. Also, Ringo Starr and a few of his friends will be in concert at Hard Rock Live.

July 4th
There will be local celebrations in Homestead, Coconut Grove, South Miami, Miami Beach, and at Bayfront Park, as well as an Old Fashioned 4th at Barnacle State Historic Site. Another option is the Independance Pool & Beach Party going on all day at the Surfcomber Hotel.

There is also an American Children’s Orchestras for Peace Music Festival in Little Havana. This event will include a parade, dove release, recording artists, local children’s orchestras, food, and plenty of kids’ activities.

Soccer anyone? The Miami FC hosts the Puerto Rico Islanders.

Indoors you can celebrate with Mya and DJ Ideal at Mansion; Glamorous Life Friday’s 4th of July Celebration with DJ Radamas at Opium Garden; and, for those of you looking to celebrate Venezuelan Independence Day, Alex Poxada along with Edgar G and Johnny Ramirez at Prive.

July 5th
Saturday you can wind down with Jazz, Art & Dinner in MiMo; Gilberto Gil at the Filmore Miami Beach; or the film The Year My Parents Went on Vacation at the Cinematheque. If slowing down is not your style, keep the party going at Rescue Me at Christabelle’s Quarter in Coconut Grove or with Hernan Cattaneo at Mansion.

July 6th
Sunday you can still catch the film The Year My Parents Went on Vacation at the Cinematheque or celebrate the birthday of Mansion’s resident DJ Mauricio with special guest DJs Enuff, Camilo, Felli Fel and superstar DJ Khaled.

All Weekend
Events going on all weekend include Jungle Island’s Birthday Bash where general admission is buy one, get one free; CELIA: The Life & Music of Celia Cruz at the Arsht Center; and Shining City at the Gable Stage.

If you’re looking for something else, visit the Event Calendar because it’s updated daily. Send me your event to be posted!
