I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (11/8-11/13)

November 07, 2006 By Laurie in Miami: Local News

Still plenty going on! Here goes…

On Wednesday (11/8), one of the original divas, Gladys Knight, will be in concert at Hard Rock Live. If you prefer sports, the Panthers will be hosting the NY Rangers at Bank Atlantic Center. Or take some time to appreciate wine at VINO Miami’s Wine Down Wednesday.

Thursday (11/9) brings Trisha Yearwood to the Bank Atlantic Center, and the Miami Beach Sport & Fitness Festival to Lummus Park through Sunday (11/12). How about a Maine-inspired dinner at the Ritz-Carlton’s Americana?

Miami Lyric Opera presents one performance of La Boheme at the Manuel Artime Theatre on Friday (11/10). Friday is also the first day of Marisa Monte‘s performances at the Gusman Center (through Saturday), ExpoNica: The Fair of the Americas at the Fair Expo Center (through Sunday), and the Wolfsonian Modernism in American Silver (through March 25, 2007).

An event not to be missed, the BANG Music Festival comes to Bicentennial Park Saturday (11/11). There’s also Paula Poundstone at Carnival Center’s Knight Concert Hall, the Miami International Wine Fair at the Convention Center (through Sunday), the opera Abduction from the Seraglio at Carnival Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House (through November 29).

Sunday (11/12) is sports day with the Dolphins hosting the Kansas City Chiefs at Dolphin Stadium and the Heat hosting the Houston Rockets at American Airlines Arena. Brooks & Dunn will be at the Sound Advice Amphitheatre with Sugarland and Jack Ingram.

Always been awed by kimonos? A kimono lecture and demonstration will be held at the Wolfsonian on Monday (11/13). Or visit Jazid for the live music of Devin Bing.

See the event calendar’s Nightlife category for the list of weekly parties and happy hours. I’m behind in my work, there’s lots to still be added to our event calendar. If you have an event for me, please submit it here.
