I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (11/28 - 12/4)

Miami is getting ready for Art Basel next week! Here’s what’s going on this week…

The Miami Short Film Festival is going on all week through Saturday.

Tuesday (11/28), Rolando Villazon, Metropolitan Opera Tenor, is at Knight Concert Hall and John Legend is at Revolution.  Jewel Stern, author of Modernism in American Silver, will lecture and sign copies of her book at Books and Books.

The weekly Wine Down Wednesday (11/29) is at VINO Miami but, this week, you need to be at Hard Rock Live to see Larry the Cable Guy! If you miss him Wednesday, he’s there Thursday, too, but Thursday is a big night…

First and foremost (for those of you into art) on Thursday (11/30), Red Hot Basil: Spicy Tips for Art Basel at the Bass Museum of Art. There’s a Sake Tasting at Doraku and a Leblon Cachaca Tasting at China Grill. There’s an Art Exhibition Opening at Art Rouge Gallery. It’s also the first night of Sesame Street Live at BankUnited Center and Feast with the Beasts, a fundrasier for the Zoological Society at Miami Metro Zoo, and Miami Beach Cinematheque is showing Full Metal Jacket.

Saturday (12/2) is a busy day in music. Miami Beach Arts in the Parks Free Concert featuring Brazilian Voices, Seraphic Fire and Miami Children’s Chorus is at Flamingo Park; Eva Yerbabuena and Olivia Netwon-John are both at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts; Lissette is at the Jackie Gleason; and Bible on Broadway is at St John’s on the Lake. Miami Beach Cinematheque is showing Stanley Kubrick’s final film Eyes Wide Shut.

And then there’s Sunday (12/3)...There’s a Chemistry LIVE Singles Mixer at Dolphins Stadium before the Dolphins game vs the Jaguars. There’s a Fundraiser for The Pet Project at Mary’s Resort; a discussion on Continuity of Change in Shanghai at the Lincoln Theatre; and a Miami Lyric Opera Gala Concert at the Manuel Artime Theatre.

Keep an eye on the event calendar for all of the upcoming Art Basel events.
