I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (1/9-1/15)

January 08, 2007 By Laurie in Miami: Local News

There will be some legends in town this week: Rod Stewart, Bob Seger, Anita Baker, and Art Deco Weekend. There are also some great events coming that you should get your tickets for now.

Here’s what’s going on this week: The 30th Annual Art Deco Weekend will take place on Ocean Drive (1/12 - 1/14).  A mulit-media theater event, Bigger Than Jesus (1/9), singer Linda Eder (1/10), and a ballet program, Program II (1/12 - 1/14), are at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Jonny Lang (1/10),  Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band (1/11), and Anita Baker (1/15) will be at Hard Rock Live. Rod Stewart (1/12) is coming to the BankAtlantic Center. Monty Python’s Spamalot begins at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (1/9 - 1/21). A Concert Tribute to Broadway Divas will be at St John’s on the Lake (1/13). And, of course, there’s always the ongoing and weekly events.

Future Events

Events to get tickets for: Next week is the 2nd Annual South Beach Comedy Festival (1/17 - 1/20). Andrew Dice Clay, Roseanne Barr, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Margaret Cho, and a bunch of other comedians will be in town. See the Comedy section of the Event Calendar for the complete list. Other upcoming events include Rockstar Supernova, Kenny G, The Fray, John Mayer, Prince, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers later this month; Jamie Foxx, Stevie Nicks, Bobby McFerrin, Billy Joel, Willy Chirino and Lissette, Liza Minelli, Justin Timberlake with Pink at the AA Arena and at the BankAtlantic Center, Blue Man Group, and Patti LaBelle in February; Bob Marley Movement FestivalWicked, Ultra Music Festival, and Bill Cosby all in March. And don’t miss Christina Aguilera in May! (Note: I’m working to get all of these events into the Event Calendar. If a link to an event is not provided, you can check back to the Event Calendar shortly, click here, or check Ticketmaster for details and ticketing.)
