I’m Bored, What’s There To Do? (10/10-10/16)

October 10, 2006 By Laurie in Miami: Local News

Ok people, there’s another big week ahead…

First and foremost, it’s Fashion Week Miami Beach! There will be fashion shows and parties Wednesday (10/11) to Sunday (10/15).

At the newly opened Carnival Center, there’s Tamango’s Urban Tap in the Studio Theater Wednesday (10/11); Miami City Ballet’s Don Quixote in the Ziff Ballet Opera House and Albita, Petrona Martinez,Carmen Paris in Knight Concert Hall on Friday (10/13); international pop and television star Christian Castro also in Knight Concert Hall on Saturday (10/14); Brazilian musician Badi Assad in the Studio Theater and comedienne Kathy Griffin in Knight Concert Hall Sunday (10/15); and a children’s theater performance, Alice by Whoopi Goldberg, on Monday (10/16).

More music events include Sheryl Crow and John Mayer at the Sound Advice Amphitheatre Wednesday (10/11); El Gran Combo & Gilberto Santa Rosa at Hard Rock Live Thursday (10/12); and, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the pan-Latin sextet Sol y Canto at the North Beach Band Shell on Saturday (10/14).

There’s still more! On Thursday (10/12), the Wolfsonian hosts author and graphic artist Micah Wright’s presentation “Surveillance Means Security: Remixed War Propaganda”, and, for you singles, there’s a “Meet Me” Event at VINO Miami. Saturday (10/14) the “So You Think You Can Dance Tour” arrives at the Jackie Gleason Theater, comedienne Kathy Griffin is at the Kravis Center for the Arts, and the Latina Nation Tour begins at Bicentennial Park. NASCAR Driver Testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway begins on Monday (10/16) and runs through Wednesday (10/18).

Can you handle it all?

And, FYI, Pet Shop Boys (10/17) and Guns N’ Roses (10/24) were last minute additions to our calendar this week. Get your tickets!
