The Chippendales Dancers Come to Miami

Call it another great step for women’s equality.

While men have been able to go out and take a look at sexy, naked girls in dozens of strip clubs around Miami for years, the options for the ladies have been limited to a gay club in North Miami and the never-open LaBare. Enter Chippendales, who are performing Thursday-Saturday nights at Mansion until the end of the month, giving the women of South Florida a place to go to see their own fantasy, and maybe even a well-produced, choreographed stage show.

We sat down with dancers Noah, Vanya and Jaymes (because male strippers ALSO refuse to spell their names normally)  to get their takes on Miami, and where they’re going to eat, stay in shape, and party.

Why did you guys want to perform in the Miami Show?

Jaymes – There’s just an energy to Miami you don’t find, even where I’m from in Vegas. It’s hot here, the people are hot here. We’re hot. People are looking to have a good time and it’s a place where women can kick back and act crazy. And that’s what we want.

Noah – I was in negative 26 in South Dakota last week. Literally, negative 26, so when they called and said “South Beach,” I came running.

How have you adapted the show for our city?

Jaymes – The girls here just seem a lot wilder than they are in Vegas. So we spent a lot of time trying to get the feel right. When you come to a show you never know.

Noah – Every club here has something that’s just SO Miami.  Like at SET they have the huge digital display. So we’re trying to do something that’s like clubby, sexy and artistic.

Where have you guys been going out?

Noah – Nobody sleeps here, it’s ridiculous. If you go to sleep something is wrong with you. So we’ve been hitting the hot clubs.

Jaymes – I’ve just been sitting on the beach, watching the pretty people go by.

Vanya – I went to Space, and I was there for 10 hours. The sound system is great, but the problem is once they daylight hits you’re like, “Oh my God I’ve been here for ten hours.” And the party has been going for 24.

How have the locals been treating you?

Jaymes – Mansion has been amazing to us, and it’s fun to get the treatment girls always get. Like we get everything paid for, people invite us places, it’s fun to turn the tables.

Noah – We’ve been on the beach and get a lot of this….

People trying to be all slick and hiding their cell phone pictures. Like we’re actually famous or something.

How do you stay in shape while you’re here?

Jaymes – We’ve all been going to Crunch since we’ve been here, so that helps.

Noah – I went for a run on the beach today. ON the beach. I was in 26 below in South Dakota last week. So you guys must do this every day.

I haven’t been to the beach in a year

ALL- NO WAY!

Noah – How are you not running on the beach every day?

Because that’s what tourists do. What are you guys eating to stay in shape?

Jaymes – The seafood here is unbelievable. I think we were at Catch the other night, and that was probably the best I’ve had.

Vanya – There’s also this juice spot (The Smoothie Shop) next to Mansion, we’re all there at least once a day. They’ll throw anything in a blender, so it’s perfect. Then they took us to that place in Brickell LeBron’s wife opened up, which was good, but you know, far away.

Noah – There’s also this great burrito place, Peppers. Not healthy, exactly, but delicious.

So Miami has like a billion strip clubs for guys, and none for girls. Can we expect you guys to help change that?

Jaymes – We hope so. This is like a trial run to see, but if our first night was any indication this’ll do well here. And if that happens, hey, put ME on the list.

Noah – Yeah I was running on the beach today and thinking “I could definitely get used to this.”

Vanya – Seriously. Can’t you all just kidnap us? Like not let us go?
