Blue Building Branded by Britto

December 31, 2006 By Gus in Miami: Local News  | 6 Comments

I’m not the biggest Romero Britto fan, but I like what he did with this affordable condo building in Miami next to I-195.

The blue building is located in a drab area of the City, and the 3-story art sculpture adds a nice splash of color.

After browsing his website, I learned Britto has also branded an Absolut bottle, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a Mini Cooper. What will Britto brand next?

Gus, I didn’t know there were affordable condos in Miami!  Is this near Downtown?

I think it’s interesting that a building in an underdeveloped part of the city has a unique landmark structure.  My only question is:  doesn’t the sculpture obstruct the view on two of the balconies?

Also, what is that on the top left frame of the second picture?

Yes, the building is near Downtown at the intersection of I-95 and I-195.

It’s the stairwell the sculpture is obstructing, and that’s a bird you see in the picture.

I would love to see the sculpture’s fate when a hurricane comes again…

sorry butt as much as I think that area needs color hanging crap children’s art on the building that will just end up being a large projectile when the wind comes is just dumb. Also isn’t the building colorful enough? I mean why do we have to paint every dam building in Miami ugle colors anyway? Sure its not that awful tan they keep smothering in coral gables on everything. I don’t see Paris painting their buildings and Paris the the most beautiful city in the world. Maybe we could learn something?

i visit Miami once a year from Cali and I love looking at that building.  the piece maybe that of a drag queen along with other symbols of Miami.  Hate it or love it, its what art is suppose to.  after all it brought us to this web page.
