Free Gospel Sunday: Israel Houghton & New Breed

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Beverly and Bill Parker, in partnership with Miami gospel radio station WMBM 1490 AM, proudly announce the return of FREE GOSPEL SUNDAYS for an astounding seventh season! Israel Houghton and New Breed is the headlining act for Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 4pm.

Israel Houghton , winner of five Grammy Awards, thirteen Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards, and a Soul Train Music Award, closes out the FREE GOSPEL SUNDAYS with an inspirational and stirring concert. Houghton will enlighten the senses with his cross-cultural style of Christian music that fuses elements from gospel, jazz and rock with a musical ensemble comprised of noted musicians and singers known as New Breed. Houghton, who overcame cultural and denominational barriers with his music stylings, has touched people of all backgrounds and paths of life. With two gold albums and top hits such as “Moving Forward”, “Just Wanna Say”, and “Your Presence Is Heaven,” which won the artist his latest Grammy Award in 2013, Israel Houghton has hit the airways with full force, and has become a household gospel name!

*First-Access Passes for FREE GOSPEL SUNDAYS can be reserved by calling the Adrienne Arsht Center box office at (305) 949-6722 or online at http://www.arshtcenter.org (limit four per person). The passes provide patrons with first access to seating in the theater. Seating is “first-come, first-serve” for the performance and passes do not guarantee a seat. Patrons who do not have a First-Access Pass can join the stand-by line beginning at 3pm outside the theater on the day of the show. First-Access passes expire at 3:45pm on the day of the show. Patrons in the stand-by line will be allowed into the theater beginning at 3:45pm if seats are still available.
