Insider tips
Residing on over 700 acres, the Fort
Wilderness Resort has shaded campsites and air-conditioned
cabins surrounded by a pine and cypress forest. It is not unusual
to see wildlife such as rabbits, deer, armadillos, ducks, geese,
and peacocks roaming the grounds.
The Wilderness Cabins are about 12' x 42'. There
is a deck outside, with a picnic table and a charcoal grill. Inside,
the cabins have a seperate bedroom with with a double bed, bunk
beds, a chest of drawers, separate vanity with wall-mounted hairdryer,
closet space; bathroom with tub/shower; full kitchen;
living area with color TV and VCR, a dining table that seats six,
sofa, kids table and chairs, Murphy bed, telephone, locked cabinet
(safe).
Most of the Campsites are fairly secluded from
one another. Each site is about 25 feet wide and comes with a picnic
table and charcoal grill. All sites have electricity (20/30/50 amps)
and city water. There are many full hookup sites that also provide
sewer.
NOTE: During the slow time of the year
(1/1-2/15; 8/6 - 11/16) AAA members can get a 20% discount off campsites.

Disney vacations
The least
crowded time to visit is from Labor Day to Thanksgiving and from
the week after President's Day (mid-February) to the start of Spring
Break (mid-March).
You
can definitely make the most of your vacation by staying at one
of the Disney World hotels.
If you do, you will enjoy special benefits such as Magic Hours,
discounts at six Disney
World golf courses, and Walt Disney World quality and service.
But if you choose to stay at one of the many hotels
near Disney World, you can still visit all of the Disney properties
to enjoy the atmosphere, have a meal, or shop. You may be charged
for parking, but you can get validated for up to one hour of parking
for each $10 you spend while you're there.
Some
of the popular moderate priced resorts include
Walt Disney's
Caribbean, Coronado,
and
Port
Orleans.
Disney
sells theme park tickets on their website, but you can not print
the tickets, meaning you must order early and have the tickets mailed
to you. You can also buy tickets through
your local auto club, Disney Store or through a school or work activities
office. Many offsite hotels also sell Disney passports at the front
desk.
I suggest
researching Disney ticket prices
in advance, and buy your pass before you get to the park. No sense
wasting the first hour waiting in line at the ticket booth.
