Butterfly
World opened in March 1988, making it the first and largest butterfly
house in the United States. Walk through a 8,000 s.f. screened tropical
rain forest, with more than 5,000 butterflies flying around you.
Outside the tropical rain forest are outdoor gardens consisting of
the Lakeside Garden walk, the English Rose Garden, and the Secret
Garden. Hundreds of Native Florida species live and fly around these
gardens, feeding on the native nectar and caterpillar sources that
have been planted for them.
