David Barton Gym "Best Gym on South Beach"
Date: July 8, 2005
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Naples, FL
Despite its small size, the David Barton Gym at the Delano Hotel is by far the best gym on south beach. The gym is almost never crowded, the equipment is great (new hammer strength and Life Fitness machines) and plenty of free weights. And contrary to the posted annual rates, you can get a stripped membership (no pool access except for classes) for about 650$ which is competitive with nearby Golds gym for a much nicer facility and atmosphere. The idea is a gym that's socially current, not playing early nineties hits or local radio stations but a variety of music and classes in a personal setting... Don't get caught up in the hype or the BS of the other gyms on the beach... they're all crowded... this one is low key, well kept, and enjoyable to go to. I've been a member for 3 yrs now on a student income, so anyone can afford it.
