Richmond opened in 1941 and is still operated by
its original owning family. The Hotel is located at the northern
end of Miami Beach.
The Richmond features an outdoor pool, half-moon-shaped
spa, and 400 feet of sandy beach. It also offers three meeting rooms,
including one that has been restored to resemble a vintage movie theater,
complete with sofas, chairs, and a 100-inch screen.

Richmond Hotel "Good

I was excited at the prospect of staying on the ocean side of Collins
Ave in South Beach at a hotel with a pool and beach access, surrounded
by all the best hotels/bars for $159 a night. The catch is you dont
get anything but your room. We walked in at 4pm on our check-in day
and the room wasn't ready. The bar nor the restuarant were open. We
were asked to return in 15 minutes. Half an hour later at 4:30, we
were finally checked in. I hung the "Service Please" sign
on our doorknob the next morning at 10:00am. At 12:00noon there were
still maids milling about, but no towels, no clean sheets--the room
hadn't been changed but the "service please" sign remained.
We left for the entire afternoon after asking two maids face-to-face
to change the room. All the ice machines were empty and when we called
down to the front desk, we were asked to bring down our ice bucket
(don't they have any spares?). We did get two towels (whoo hoo)but
when we asked if there were beach chairs available to guests (free
of charge) and were rudely responded to: "Well you have to go
ask on the beach!" At 6pm the room had still not been changed
and I had to ask the MANAGER after Housekeeping hung up on me. Its
not worth the $159/night. I'll never stay there again, and if you
were wise, you wouldn't either!

We were disappointed in the Richmond Hotel in South Beach. Rooms were
very small and the mattress was long past needing to be changed. Overall,
this is not a South Beach Hotel we can recommend.
