Leslie Hotel "Never
stay at the Leslie Hotel" Date: June 9, 2005 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, San Francisco, CA
Crappy hotel conveniently located right on the beach. Dirty, run down
rooms. Dirty showers that will scald you without a second's notice.
Rude staff that kick you out with no opportunity for late checkout
and won't even store your bag. Paper thin walls. Broken windows &
views of the dumpster in the back alley. BTW, don't eat in the restaurant,
poor quality food.
Leslie Hotel "Bono not here but fun nonetheless" Date: December 31, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, San Diego, CA
I am currently staying at the Leslie Hotel in South Beach because
it is New Year's eve and this place is going to be hoppin' tonight.
Last time I was here Bono was in the house (literally, it was I think
owned by Arista records at the time). I checked in yesterday late
afternoon, they found my reservation with no problem, took care of
my car, and gave me a corner room in the back by the alley. Many people
may not like the back alley view but I really liked the room with
the windows on both sides and even the broken handle on the dresser
had a certain charm. I almost hate to give the Leslie a great review
because that tends to draw people and the next thing you know you
won't be able to get a reservation. I guess I can share and hopefully
your stay will be more like mine than the other reviewers. Maybe they
have improved over the last 6 months but I love the place and the
new bartender (started yesterday) at the martini bar.
Leslie Hotel "Our Nightmare at the Leslie" Date: May 13, 2004 Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Miami, FL
Being from Miami, I stay on South Beach often, a couple of years ago
I stayed at the Leslie for my birthday and had quite a pleasent stay.
Unfortunately that was two years ago and the hotel is under new ownership.
This year, throughout my stay at I was extremely dissapointed at the
the way their staff handled themselves. Not only was I stopped on
the way to my room at 5:00am to let me know that I needed to pay an
extra 20 dollars for an extra guess in the hotel, upon checking out
they said that there was no register of the payment made and they
would be keeping the deposit. It's very unfortuante that such a nice
hotel which I had enjoyed so much upon my last visit is under such
poor management and will no longer cater to a local. If you have any
questions please feel free to respond and get more feed back on how
great a plac this used to be.
