Insider
tips
Hotel Astor was designed to be a
chic, service-oriented property Streamlined
all-white sofas and chairs, Art Deco architectural features, and a
huge vintage Vornado fan by the front door give the lobby of the Hotel
Astor the look of an old movie set.
The three-story hotel has a popular lobby bar and a lower-level restaurant
(Metro Kitchen ) that serves modern American cuisine
for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant looks out on a dining
patio with tropical gardens and a waterfall wall.
The hotel was originally built in 1936 and retains many original
architectural features. In fact, the hotel is one of the stops on
the neighborhood's Art Deco tour.
Valet parking is available, but you
can save a few dollars and park at the nearby 7th Street and Collins
Ave. garage for a flat rate of $8 per day.
High Speed Internet access connections are available
in the junior and one bedroom suites.

Astor Hotel "4
days at the Astor"
Date: November 30, 2005
Reviewer: Miami Beach 411 User, Vancouver BC Canada
It was perfect!! Lots of very nice touches. We could have stayed at
any of the big chains and had exactly the same anywhere. The Astor
was full of character and authentic Miami. The music turned on when
we walked into the room and great pillows were enjoyed. 1st class
service all the way, we would return in a heartbeat.

Astor Hotel "Sunday Brunch"

The brunch was wonderful. Maryel Epps was more than wonderful but
please, do something about the temp in the dining room. And the light---
a little shade could go a long ways!!
